Making their series debut in 2020 at Road Atlanta with a second-place result, Tyler Maxson and Tyler Gonzalez will be looking for more as they start 2021. After a successful test at the ROAR before the Rolex 24 this past weekend, the teenage duo and Copeland Motorsports drivers will look to put their #27 Hyundai Veloster N TCR at the front of the field during the first event in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge.

“We had an awesome debut and almost won the race at Road Atlanta,” explained Tyler Gonzalez. “Unfortunately, an incident at the start of Sebring put us down the running order but our race pace could have put us on the podium. We are now putting 2020 behind us and fully focused on results this weekend, and onwards through the season.”

“We are up for the challenge and look forward to competing against the teams and drivers who have been part of this series for the past year,” explained Tyler Maxson. “Our goal is simple. Finish and win. Staying out of trouble and being there at the end of the race is key as I already know we will have the speed to run at the front.”

“It is great to have both Tylers racing for us and not against us,” added Dean Copeland of Copeland Motorsports. “Dubbed TNT, we are hoping that their call name is exactly that and they are a dynamic duo on track.”

Hitting the track Wednesday afternoon for their one and only practice session that day, Maxson and Gonzalez will fine tune their Hyundai Veloster N to ensure complete preparedness for qualifying on Thursday. With practice two at 9:45am on Thursday, qualifying will roll off the grid that afternoon at 2:25pm. Warmup on Friday morning will be a short thirty-minute session at 9:25am with the BWM Endurance Challenge going green at 1:35pm with the checkered flag falling at 5:35pm.
