Tyler Maxson is set to begin his second season in the Porsche Carrera Cup North America championship this week at Sebring International Raceway, returning with TOPP Racing with his sights set firmly on the 2026 title.
After an impressive rookie campaign in 2025, when Maxson finished fifth in the championship standings, the young driver enters his sophomore season with momentum and experience on his side. Building on the strong foundation established last year, Maxson and the TOPP Racing team are aiming to turn consistent performances into a championship challenge.
“Last season gave us a great baseline to build from,” expressed Maxson. “We learned a lot throughout the year, and I’m excited to come back with TOPP Racing and push for wins and the championship. Sebring is always a tough place to start the season, but we’re ready for the challenge.”
Team manager TJ Reynolds believes the team is well-positioned to take the next step in 2026.
“We’re proud of what Tyler accomplished in his first season with us,” added Reynolds. “Finishing fifth in the championship as a rookie showed the speed and maturity he brings to the program. Over the offseason, we’ve worked hard to refine every aspect of our effort, and we’re heading into Sebring confident that we can contend at the front and put together a championship-caliber season.”
With a year of experience in the series and a determined team behind him, Maxson enters Sebring ready to begin the pursuit of the 2026 Porsche Carrera Cup North America championship. The legendary Sebring International Raceway will host a packed three-day schedule. On-track action begins Wednesday with two practice sessions as drivers dial in their cars for the demanding 3.74-mile circuit. Thursday will feature qualifying followed by Race 1 of the weekend, while Race 2 on Friday will conclude the season-opening event. Fans can watch all the action from the season opener live on IMSA.com/tvlive/, Peacock TV, and the Porsche Motorsport North America YouTube page.
